Slow Cooker Steak Bites are juicy, tender pieces of beef cooked low and slow in a savory gravy. Perfect served over mashed potatoes or noodles.

Ingredients

3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth

1 ounce au jus gravy mix (1 packet)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Place the steak into a large bowl with salt and pepper and toss to combine.

2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add half of the olive oil.

3. Sear the steak pieces in batches until browned and transfer to a 6-quart slow cooker.

4. Add remaining oil as needed for searing.

5. Add sliced onion and garlic to the slow cooker and toss with the steak.

6. Pour in the beef stock and sprinkle the au jus gravy mix evenly over the top.

7. Lay butter slices over the steak.

8. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours, stirring occasionally.

9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Round steak, stew meat, or chuck roast can be used instead of sirloin.

Searing is optional but recommended.

Serve with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freeze for up to 3 months.

Adjust cooking times based on your slow cooker.
